Hello,
My name is Gary Gray. I am a professional photographer and print maker working out of my home in Littleton, Colorado. I am married and have three grown children and five lovely and growing grand-children.
My photographic ambition took root at the age of twelve when my father introduced me to photography by teaching me the fundamentals using a Voitlander 35mm rangefinder. As a young man, I continued my enthusiasm for photography while serving in the United States Navy, working primarily with stereoscopic 35mm cameras.
After leaving the US Navy, I began a 25 year career with the Wall Street Journal. While with the newspaper I worked extensively with digital imaging systems and with large format B&W film cameras and film processing in my role as manager of the graphic arts department of various printing facilities. During my career with The Wall Street Journal, we earned 7 group Pulitzer prizes allowing me to obtain extensive first hand experience with producing quality work under demanding circumstances. I bring the the philosophy of highest quality standards and work ethic into my business and professional photography career.
I am retired from The Wall Street Journal and now enjoying my life as a landscape & nature photographer. I founded Gray Photography in 2006 shortly before my retirement from The Wall Street Journal and I travel extensively throughout the state of Colorado and the Rocky Mountains looking for unique and interesting scenes not commonly photographed.
Today, I am a published photographic artist and writer based in Littleton, Colorado and Red Feather Lakes, Colorado. As a professional photographer, I have done projects as small as simple weddings and events to large scale projects such as photographing the entire Denver Fire Department.
My photographic ambition is to capture unique and dramatic images and reproduce these images on the finest quality prints.
I adhere to my own style and approach to photography and I do not believe in duplicating other photographer's techniques nor in following the latest photographic fads.
I photograph weddings, events and just about anything else worth photographing. In the current photography environment, the day of the specialist is over. Learning the art of photography is just the beginning. Learning the business of photography is a much more challenging task and I believe a photographer should be capable of taking on any type of assignment and achieve first rate results.
I have also worked for Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep as a bereavement photographer, had several books published with my photography featured and continue to work in any area of photography that I find to be interesting and challenging.
I am a master printer and personally make all of my own photographic artist prints and provide my services to other photographers and visual artists.
I am also a proud member of the Denver Photographic Society.
Gray Photography is a Limited Liability Company.
